PostSubject: Tournement Rules and Information   Sun Aug 12, 2007 10:46 pm

ALL TOURNEMENTS WILL FOLLOW THESE RULES!!

All options for each game will be set to default with spawns 10.

Once a player loses his/her last city he/she is eliminated and no longer allowed to participate in the game. This includes no moving units! (If some remain)

If you get disconnected from a game you are out of the tourney. We can't plan every game over 1 guy disconnecting all the time. UNLESS the host of the game used a drop hack to kick you out of the game. In which case he/she will be disqualified and the game will be replanned.

Tournement Matches

All tournements will consist of 32 players.
ALL GAMES will have a 40 minute time limit. If this limit is breached then the users in last are eliminated. The winners will move on as stated below.

Round 1: Will consist of 4 matches of 8 players.

-The 4 winners from the 4 games move on-

Round 2: Will consist of 2 matches of 8 players.

-The 4 winners from the 2 games move on-

Round 3: This will be 2 matches of 4 players. With 4 computers in each game to balance out positions.

-The two winners from those 2 games move on to the Semi Final!-

Round 4 The Semi Finals: This match will have ONE GAME of 4 players. With 4 computer's to balance out the map.

-The 2 winners move on to the Final!!-

Round 5 The Final: This match is for the 2 winning players of the tournement. It is a two man match with 6 computers to balance out the map.

THE WINNER OF THE TOURNEMENT WILL BE CROWNED WITH THE RANK "TOURNEY KING" ON THE WEBSITE!!

hmm.. that seems all nice and well planned, but i find myself disagreeing with the final game. 80% of a devo 1v1 is denying countries from your enemy. If you have two pros facing off on ecah other, dont you think it should be only his and his opponents cities? Thats how every 1v1 ive ever seen/played in has been.

Every match of every tournement will have 8 slots filled, no exceptions. Smile

spawns set to ten? i dont like that becasue that tends to discourage attacking. And i have been in too many games that stalemate becasue no one wants to attack.

what made you decide to set spawns to ten? just out of curiosity.

However, you are the one deciding rules, and i doubt my dislike of them will change much.

DO you have a plan for what happens if a game should stalemate? if you set spawns to ten its that much more likely it will happen. You cant force a game out of stalemate. Everyone knows the first to attack is the first to lose, followed by the person who gets attacked.

and losing the last city........

what if u lose ur last city but then gain a city back? are you still eliminated?

No set of rules is ever going to be perfect, and its a shame we need to take such a hardline stance against people with no cities, but these are issues that need discussing.

mostly wondering on clarifications of these things.

Once you lose your last city you are eliminated without question. You are no longer allowed to even move your units.

If users try to interfear with the game once they are eliminated from the game, it may result in heavy consequences.

Having spawns set to 10 is the perfect amount to build up spawns for defence. No game will ever end up in a stale mate. Infact im going to change it so if the game lasts 60 minutes automatically the people in last are eliminated from the competition.

is the scoreboard gonna have anythin to do with the outcome? what if a person did great all game and got owned at the end and is say in 5th place. on the scoreboard after game, if he comes out as 1st or 2nd place, would that do anythin for the fella?

The scoreboard at the end has nothing to do with the match. It goes by the positioning of the in game scoreboard. Keep in mind if everyone just sits idle the whole game the people with the top 4 incomes will just win. Due to the 60 minute game rule. No game can be longer than 60 minutes.
